Visit Britain has appointed internationally-acclaimed Emirati film director Ali F. Mostafa as a UAE Goodwill Ambassador to help raise awareness of Britain in the region.
Mostafa joins a cast of prominent celebrity personalities including Dame Judi Dench, Dev Patel and Jamie Oliver who are taking part in a massive $100 million government-funded ‘Great Britain: You’re Invited’ campaign.
Mostafa, whose family has owned a house in Windsor along the River Thames since the 1970's has spent many years of his life in Britain, and studied at the London Film School. He said it was an "honour" to be chosen as an ambassador for Britain.
“Having spent considerable time in the UK, I have a close affinity to the country’s traditions and character not least because my experiences in London were a major catalyst for me to become a film director,” said Mostafa.
While he is currently working on his third film, Mostafa revealed that his plans were for the "majority of his fourth film to be shot in London".
